Iceland Trip (part 3 of 3)

11:20

Believe it or not Blue Lagoon is actually closer to the airport than it is to downtown Reykjavik. As a matter of fact it's a popular destination for those that have layovers in Iceland. The airport provides shuttles that will bring you to and back from the destination just in time to catch your flight! I know right, just a tad bit on the risky side. With my luck I'd completely miss my flight! Luckily though, this wasn't my case. I was staying in Reykjavik, so I hopped in the car with my boyfriend and drove for about fourty five minutes. As soon as you step foot onto the parking lot it's absolute chaos!!! There are rows of cars and tour busses filled with excited tourists squirming to get out. Not long after my boyfriend and I happened to get in line one of the employees working decided to give an announcement. ''Please guys, try and refrain yourselves from throwing the Silica Mud at each other or we will have to escorts you out." Sadly, I'm sure he is required to say this due to people actually doing this???

In case you are not familiar with Silica Mud it's found within the Blue Lagoon. It contains exfoliating and cleansing properties. It is said to be a miracle ingredient for "perfect skin." Whether this is true or not, I don't know. More on the skeptical side of things! What I do know is that it's tons of fun to slather all over your face while relaxing in the warm waters. How warm? Well, the temperature of the lagoon is 100 degrees, but don't forget it's about 30 degrees outside so it feels absolutely wonderful! Once you find yourself basking in the beauty of the blue lagoon waters you are not going to want to get out. Believe me when I say this! The best option for anyone planning to make a trip here would be to get your ticket for the morning time. The earlier the better! This way you can both avoid lines and spend maximum time possible relaxing! If you do find yourself in Iceland you H A V E to go to Blue Lagoon! It's like going to Paris and not even visiting the Tour Eiffel! You will not want to deprive yourself of this beauty. Entry to the lagoon ranges from 35 to 165 euro per person, depending on which package youn decide to purchase.  But keep in mind, you can't put a price on a memorable experience!
